A husband, father, and friend, Jerry was known for his compassion, dedication, and unwavering spirit that has left an indelible mark on family and friends.
Born September 8th, 1933, in Tyre, MI, to Clarence and Emma (Partaka) Zmich. Jerry graduated from Ubly High School, MI, in 1952, followed by joining the US Air Force later that same year. Following an Honorable discharge, he pursued a career as an engineer for the Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) Railroad until 1976, as well as boarding, training, and breeding Arabian and Paso Fino horses and building his first airplane. In 1976, his passion for horses and good weather brought him and his family to Tryon, NC.
