The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played a Best Ball format on September 16 along with closest-to-the-pin contests on the par 3’s. There were winners for both Gross and Net. The results were as follows:

 

1st place Gross – Bill Basye, Jack Saunders, Mike Bates, Don Jaeger – 36

1st place Net – Russ Rabenstein, Dave Gunter, Charles McKeller, Bill Hillhouse – 29

2nd place Gross – John Schickling, Richard Barraud, Gerry Holstein, (BP) Dave Gunter – 38

2nd place Net – Bill Kelly, Jerry Perry, Rody Dayvault, John House – 30

#3 Forward Tee – Ed Weatherby – 3’ 7”

 #8 – Doug Gelbert – 12’ 8”
