POLK COUNTY—Volunteer team members of the Polk Equine Emergency Rescue Team (PEER) recently gathered for dinner at the Rural Seed to honor Anita Stephens Williamson.

Anita is retiring after more than twenty-five years of service to the citizens, horses, and large animals of Polk County and many of the surrounding counties, including those in South Carolina. Anita is one of the original founders of PEER and is credited with countless successful rescues as she led the well-trained members of the non-profit organization. She can retire admirably after decades of unwavering commitment and leadership to PEER.

Her colleagues wish Anita the best of health and happiness in her future endeavors.
