The Foundation for St. Luke’s Hospital recently announced that it has selected Wendy Hamil to serve as its Executive Director. She replaces Amanda Thompson, who is moving on to a new opportunity in nursing.
Wendy Hamil is deeply committed to serving her community. Her extensive experience, which includes twelve years as a secondary educator, fifteen years in marketing and client development, and eight years in foundation work, reflects this commitment. In her foundation work, she’s managed donor services, scholarship programs, community engagement, program and event coordination, planned giving strategies, and more for The Community Foundation of Henderson County, Inc.
Wendy’s energetic approach to her work fosters community growth through solid relationship building, introducing individuals and business entities to charitable giving opportunities. She’s an experienced grant writer and grant facilitator. She values a strong work ethic, stewardship, and volunteerism.
Foundation Board Chair Linda Greensfelder shared, “Wendy is an excellent communicator who comes into this position with a deep understanding of Polk County and a strong existing network in the philanthropic community. We are excited that she has chosen to join our Foundation.
Wendy, a fourteen-year Polk County resident, will join the Foundation on August 19, 2024. She previously lived in Saluda before moving to Tryon.
