The Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association played a “2 Best Ball of 4 Net” format on July 23, along with “Low Putts” and a closest-to-the-pin contest on #3. There were 19 players competing, and the scores were close. The final results were as follows:

 

1st place – Patty Aldred, Ann Gargiulo, Caroline Brown, Faith Weathington – 66

2nd place – Nancy Mahler, Lib McKeller, Claudia Law, Kimberly Broussard – 67

3rd place – Tracey Beaver, Lisa Bjerring, Stephanie Lyons, Inglis Sellick – 68

Closest-to-the-pin on #3 – Lynn Morrill – 23’ 6”

1st – Marge Avery – 14

2nd – Stephanie Lyons – 15

3rd – (Tie) – Lib Mckeller, Tracey Beaver, Inglis Sellick – all with 17 putts
