On Wednesday, February 21, at 9 a.m., Kevin Burke of Carolina Nature Tours will lead a winter bird walk around the FENCE property.
Winter can be a great time for bird watching in the Foothills, and this program is great for birders of all levels, from beginners to more advanced birders. Attendees will explore the FENCE property in search of year-round and wintering bird species and may encounter red-tailed hawks, sparrows and woodpeckers, to name a few.
This program will meet at the FENCE center. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the cooler winter temperatures.
This event is made possible thanks to the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation and is free and open to the public.
FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon. For more information for this event call 828-859-9021, email info@fence.org, or visit www.fence.org.
