All Seasons Veterinary Hospital plans to open in December or January

TRYON—You may have noticed a lot happening to that empty building on South Trade Street that was once Tryon Optometric. As we reported in February it’s to be the home of “All Seasons Veterinary Hospital” and veterinarian Cristina Chumbler who had hoped to open the practice this past summer, but Chumbler says the size of the building created some design challenges.

“I mean it’s really, really small so my intent is to make it as efficiently laid out and as client and patient-friendly as possible, so that architectural plan took a while to nail down,” she says.

Chumbler hired an architect who only designs veterinary hospitals and once the design was finalized, she solicited bids from multiple contractors before selecting one to do that work, a process she says took longer than expected. Chumbler says when the renovation is finished the building will have more windows and four doors in front, one leading into the lobby and the other three directly exiting exam rooms.

“Clients will be able to enter their exam rooms through the interior of the hospital and then they’ll be able to exit directly from their exam rooms so they won’t have to backtrack through the lobby,” says Chumbler, who adds that walking back through a lobby when leaving can be stressful for both pets and their owners.

All Seasons Veterinary Hospital will provide wellness care for all ages of dogs and cats. Services will include management of acute and chronic medical conditions, soft tissue surgery including spays and neuters, dentistry, diagnostics including blood work, x-rays and ultrasounds, daytime emergency services and hospitalization when needed.

Chumber says work on the building is now scheduled to be complete on December 5 and she plans to open later that month or in early January.
