COLUMBUS—A free Healthy Living Talk hosted by the YMCA at the Polk County Library will take place on Thursday, October 5, as part of an ongoing monthly series.
Couples therapist Karen Naegel, LMFTA, will discuss ‘Love & Relationships: A Science-based Approach to Making Your Relationships Better.’ The event is for anyone who wants to work on their romantic relationships, whether they are married, divorced or single.
“When couples experience intense or prolonged periods of stress and strain, it’s not uncommon for them to need help,” says Nagel. “I understand how in relationship distress couples can feel overwhelmed and exhausted from trying to fix their relationship.”
Naegal, who earned a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and is a licensed marriage and family therapist associate in North Carolina, has completed advanced training in couples therapy and premarital counseling. She is originally from the Midwest and received her undergraduate degree from Miami University in 1995.
“After many years of schooling and specialization, I feel privileged to support couples in their distressed seasons,” she says. “This is very meaningful work to me, and I feel blessed to be part of it.”
The Healthy Living Talk will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Community Room. Polk County Library is located at 1289 W. Mills St. in Columbus.
