First and second-grade students participating in summer reading camps recently took part in fun learning projects.

Second-grade students participating in summer reading camp enjoyed a week spent with bubble-inspired activities.

They participated in a “bubble-filled day” where they read all about bubbles, participated in bubble art and even solved math problems involving bubbles. The students got to end the day with a bubble-blowing contest.

Students in Kristy Cox and Beth Brangan’s first-grade reading camp group recently spent a week studying R-controlled vowels.

The first-grade class concluded the study with a pirate treasure hunt where students had to correctly write R-controlled words in order to get their next location clue.

Both groups had a great time preparing for the activities and had lots of fun while learning.
