Veterans will have the opportunity to meet with VA Representatives to discuss benefits
COLUMBUS–Veterans in our area will have the opportunity to meet with VA representatives and discuss benefits at an upcoming Veterans Benefits Live event organized by the Winston-Salem VA Regional Office.
The event will take place on June 16th at Polk County High School.
All Veterans and survivors interested in filing a claim for VA disability compensation, including the new Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act benefits, survivor’s pension, Veteran Readiness and Employment services, or needing assistance with an existing VA claim, are encouraged to attend. The event is open to the public and will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Representatives from the Winston-Salem VA Regional Office will be available to meet face-to-face with Veterans and survivors, addressing their questions and concerns. Attendees will have the opportunity to file claims for compensation, pension, or other VA-related benefits, submit evidence, and speak with a VA claims processor regarding existing claims, all in a single day.
In addition to providing information on the VA disability claims process, experts from the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) will be present to assist with VA healthcare eligibility and enrollment. VHA clinicians will also be on hand to conduct onsite Toxic Exposure Screenings. Vet Center counselors will be available to offer support for bereavement, military sexual trauma, substance abuse, and mental health screening.
