Landrum, Spindale to receive unique drive-thru coffee experience
TRYON–A coffee shop in downtown Tryon will soon be expanding and opening two more locations.
Founded in 2021, Big Guns Coffee is owned and operated by Marine Corps Veteran T.Shane Johnson and his entrepreneurial eight-year-old daughter, Charli. After setting out to launch their own coffee brand, the pair originally offered their brew through a mobile location before opening their first brick-and-mortar store last year.
Big Guns Coffee, located at 152 N. Trade St., recently announced plans to start drive-thru mobile trucks in Landrum and in Spindale.
The Landrum location is set to open at 102 W. Coleman St., behind the Hot Spot gas station, on June 19. The Spindale location will open at 139 W. Main St. on July 15.
” Charli and I are overwhelmed with excitement to proudly unveil our new locations,” said T.Shane on Friday. “The unexpected outpouring of support from the community highlights the incredible spirit of this town. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone and eagerly anticipate serving each and every one of you in our new coffee shops.”
Big Guns’ goal is to continue to expand with new locations while delivering to its customers across the world, as they continue working on growing the coffee hydroponically and creating the first tourable Hydroponic Coffee Farm in North Carolina.
Charli and T.Shane grow coffee hydroponically on their Mill Spring farm and hand-roast beans from other countries in small batches, selling their coffee online around the world. Each roast features 38 blends from every corner of the earth. Big Guns Coffee is also part of a local Community Supported Agriculture subscription box featuring farmers and community businesses.
Johnson has hiked across the US to raise funds for homeless veterans 3 times, has broken a number of world-record challenges, and has written three best-selling books. A serial entrepreneur and motivational speaker, Johnson says his most important job is being a father.
