TRYON–The Rotary Club of Tryon recently inducted Tryon Town Manager Jim Fatland and Habitat for Humanity’s Linda Corns as Club members.

The Rotary Club of Tryon is growing, and Fatland is no stranger to Rotary. He was a Rotary Club of Tryon member before he moved to Brevard, where he joined the Pisgah Forest Rotary Club. Now that he has returned to Tryon, he is gladly welcomed back.

Corns is the Director of ReStore Operations and Marketing for Habitat for Humanity. She is new to this role in our area, but she brings a great deal of experience. She served her community as an Executive/Buyer for Dillard’s Department Store and then Vice President of Operations for Central Goodwill Industries of Virginia, before joining Habitat For Humanity.

Community members partner with Habitat to help prospective homeowners build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners build their own homes alongside volunteers.  These new homeowners pay an affordable mortgage to help them achieve the independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
