Performances will take place in Tryon’s beautiful downtown amphitheater starting Thursday, June 1, and will run through Sunday, June 4.

These unique performances consist of 14 actors working with seven directors on staged readings of scenes from seven Shakespeare comedies.

This year’s Shakespearian sampler has been designed to maximize the fun for the audience, with favorite scenes from “Love’s Labour Lost,” “A Comedy of Errors,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and  “Much Ado About Nothing,” among others.

“We have some great surprises in store for our audiences this summer,” said Producer Michelle Newman. “With Shakespeare’s traditional gender-bending roles, mistaken identities, unrequited love, hilarious plot twists and hijinks, all set to music and hosted by an emcee, the evening we’ve put together is focused on the lighter, romantic and humorous side of Shakespeare.”

You don’t want to miss this delightful, family-friendly summer event. Tickets are $10. Performances on Thursday through Saturday start at 7:30 p.m. The matinee on Sunday starts at 2 p.m.
