Officials say that North Carolina Highway Patrol has been involved in a vehicle pursuit in the area. There is a large police presence in the vicinity as they conduct the investigation.

A resident living near the area who asked to remain anonymous told the Bulletin that a low-flying helicopter could be heard around 3 p.m., and that sirens and “revving engines” were heard during the 2 o’clock hour.

Officials add that there is no danger to the public at this time.

This is a developing story. The Tryon Daily Bulletin will share more details when they are available.
