Community event raises $2,700 for Outreach

TRYON–Tryon’s Adult Prom Fundraiser on May 5 raised $2,700 for Thermal Belt Outreach.

Attendees danced the night away to music by the Trophy Husbands, sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and the Congregational Church, UCC. A true community event, Outreach staff and several local individuals prepared homemade desserts and food platters and several local business sponsors provided $450 in funds for beverages and party supplies. 

There were also generous donations of over $1,000 in raffle prizes including gift certificates, lovely gift baskets and other items from local businesses and individuals.

“The Tryon Adult Prom Fundraiser is such a wonderful example of neighbors helping neighbors and having a great time while doing it,” said Executive Director of Outreach Margot B. Carter. “We are grateful to everyone who participated in, donated to, and organized this event to raise both money and awareness about Outreach.”
