COLUMBUS–Area veterans can get more information about the PACT Act and possible Veterans Affairs benefits at an upcoming event at Polk County High School.

The VA In My Town event, which is hosted by the Winston-Salem VA Regional Office, will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, June 16 at the high school.

Veterans will learn more about the PACT Act, which, according to the VA website, “is a new law that expands VA health care and benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances. The PACT Act adds to the list of health conditions that we assume (or “presume”) are caused by exposure to these substances. This law helps us provide generations of Veterans — and their survivors — with the care and benefits they’ve earned and deserve.”
