Sunny View man indicted by a grand jury on multiple charges

SUNNY VIEW – On Wednesday, May 3, Robert Lee Strough III, 22 of Sunny View, was indicted by a grand jury on charges of burning a building under construction, burning personal property, breaking and entering and larceny. 

He was originally taken into custody on March 30, when Polk County detectives went to Strough’s residence due to warrants for his arrest. Strough was suspected of several larcenies in the Sunny View area. According to Sheriff Tim Wright, while at the residence detectives noticed items reported stolen in a separate larceny report, and drugs and paraphernalia were also on the premises.

Detectives seized the items and Strough was arrested and transported to Polk County Detention Center. He was charged with 8 counts of possession of stolen firearms, possession of firearms by felon, and failure to appear on felony.

Robert Lee Strough III is currently being held in the Polk County Detention Center without the option to bond out. His next court date is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17.
