Ella Waldman scored a pair of goals Tuesday to lead Polk County to a 4-1 victory over East Rutherford in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference girls soccer match in Bostic.

The Wolverines improved to 14-3-1 overall, 7-2-1 in league play with the win. Combined with Brevard’s loss to Hendersonville, Polk County now has sole possession of second place in the MF7 ahead of Thursday’s match at third-place Brevard.

Both of Waldman’s goals came off corner kicks.
