Landrum Cardinals Varsity Softball drops two in a row on the road

Landrum – The Landrum Cardinals Varsity Softball team returned to the field after spring break with two road games in three days versus Greer and West-Oak. 

 

The Cardinals went into spring break with consecutive wins versus Polk County and Abbeville. They returned to play on Monday, April 11, with an away matchup against the Greer Yellowjackets (2-4). The game got away from the Cards early, resulting in a 17-4 Greer victory.

Landrum jumped back into action Wednesday, April 13, with a trip to Westminster to face the West-Oak Warriors (1-3). The game was close, but the Warriors were able to edge out the Cardinals 11-8. The loss dropped the Cardinal’s overall record to 3-3, 0-1. They have scored 45 runs on the season and given up 54. 

 

The Cardinals return to the field for their third away game of the week on Friday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. versus conference foe Chesnee Eagles (8-6, 4-0), who currently sit in first place in AA Region 1. Next week, Landrum has another away region matchup versus Blacksburg on Monday, then home games against Blue Ridge and Greenville Tech Charter on Wednesday and Friday.
