St Luke’s Hospital has donated five hospital beds and two patient recliners

to Polk County High School for use in health science education. This donation benefits healthcare students, specifically those pursuing a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification.

Said Aaron Greene, Superintendent of Polk County Schools, “We appreciate our ongoing partnership with St. Luke’s Hospital. This donation is another example of St. Luke’s caring for our students and community. The donated beds and chairs will help our students learn skills and techniques using more modern equipment, helping them better prepare for their careers in healthcare. Thanks to St. Luke’s for this generous donation to our Nursing program!”

Michelle Fortune, St. Luke’s CEO, added, “Our goal with this donation is to advance the training of our high school students in healthcare sciences. We hope some of these students will remain in our local community and work at St Luke’s as they pursue their careers!”
