The Western Region Superintendent of the Year is selected yearly through voting done by superintendents across the area. The Western Region includes the 18 counties in Western North Carolina.

Greene is now one of eight superintendents across the state from whom will be chosen the 2024 North Carolina Superintendent of the Year, that honor bestowed by the North Carolina Association of School Administrators, the North Carolina Superintendents’ Association and the North Carolina School Boards Association.

The 2024 winner will be announced later this year.
