Landrum– Margaret Smith Neil of Landrum, SC, passed away on March 31, 2023, at the age of 97.  Margaret was born on January 14, 1926, in Landrum, SC to the late William Ernest Smith and Elsie Edwards Smith and lived in Landrum her entire life.  She was predeceased by one sister and five brothers.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 75 years, John H. Neil.  She is also survived by her daughter, Patricia Neil Lewkowicz (Ralph) of Valrico, Florida, grandson, Ryan Lewkowicz (Megan) of Little Rock, Arkansas, and granddaughter, Ashley Hiller (Wes) of Tampa, Florida along with four great-grandchildren: Adam and Emmy Lewkowicz and, Wesley and Maddie Hiller.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Margaret was a member of Landrum First Baptist Church since the age of 10 and worked there with preschool children for 31 years.  “Miss Margaret” had a special place in her heart for young children and they in turn were drawn to her.

Funeral services will be held at the Landrum First Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 11:00AM conducted by Rev. Mark Bishop and Rev. Juan Molina. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
