Meeting will provide breakfast and tips on how to develop local businesses
SALUDA-The Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce will host its quarterly Bites for Business event on April 19 at Looking Glass Realty, located at 108 East Main Street in Saluda. The Chamber’s meeting will feature breakfast, networking and a discussion on how to amplify business.
This is the second year for Bites for Boosting Your Business. The meetings are held quarterly and rotate through each town represented by the Chamber; Saluda, Columbus, Tryon and Landrum. The Bites program is run by Stephanie Winterrowd, a volunteer with the chamber, and Sarah Leatham, a member of the Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Bites for Business is intended to bring attention to and improve local businesses, with past topics ranging from marketing tips and insurance for businesses, to social media for marketing and cybersecurity basics and fundamentals.
“The goal of Bites for Boosting Your Business is to give individuals and business owners the ability to gather and learn about subject matters that affect their bottom line,” said Leatham. “We want both our Chamber members and our community members to know they have a resource they can turn to when seeking help to improve their business, or for getting the word out about what they do.”
This meeting’s topic is “Story to Sell,” and will feature author Shannon Zimmerman. Zimmerman has 15 years of experience with Parsons Corporation (a technology-focused infrastructure engineering firm in Centreville, VA) as a copywriter and corporate storyteller.
“Our topics are gathered from suggestions we receive at our quarterly meetings, from our Business After Hours forum or from people calling into the Chamber looking for resources to help them in their business,” said Leatham, “The speakers are unpaid and willing to share their knowledge for educational purposes first, but are happy to also be of help outside of the seminar.”
The meeting begins at 8 a.m., allowing 30 minutes for networking, with guest speaker Zimmerman giving her presentation from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. The event is free to the public, and those interested can RSVP at business.carolinafoothillschamber.com.
