LANDRUM–Join Conserving Carolina and the Landrum Library for a free lecture entitled, “Don’t Feed the Goat!,” presented by Beth Button, District Coordinator for Spartanburg Soil and Water Conservation District. The program will be held on Tuesday, March 2t, at 6 p.m. at the Landrum Library, located at 111 East Asbury Drive Landrum, S.C.

Litter from non-point sources makes its way through the watershed to the ocean. As it travels, this litter can be broken down into smaller and smaller pieces until they can be nearly impossible to remove from the water causing issues for people and wildlife alike. What problems does this cause and how can we put a stop to it?  We need to catch the trash that floats downstream, and we can do so with a new contraption…the WaterGoat!

This lecture is part of Conserving Carolina’s monthly Speaker Series at the Landrum Library, and it is made possible thanks to the Landrum Library.  The next program at the Landrum Library will be held on April 18, when Kristen Austin, Upstate Conservation Director for The Nature Conservancy, will present, “The Nature Conservancy’s Blue Wall Preserve: An Ecological Light in the Dark Corner.”
