Owner Brian Frascino grew up in New York City, where Italian-style delis were on every corner. There he grew up cooking with his family, especially his grandmother, who he named the deli after using her maiden name, Biazzo.

He eventually found his way to Greenville, SC, where he opened a food truck. After selling the food truck, he began looking for a location to start a deli, and a day trip to Landrum led him to his current location.

“An Italian deli is slightly different in that we specialize in Italian sandwiches and cuisine,” Frascino explains. “We don’t have certain items that might be associated with a deli. For example, we don’t have pastrami or corned beef. We have Italian cold-cut sandwiches, house-made roast beef braised in red wine, take-and-bake items like meatballs and lasagna, and some amazing specials all made in-house. All our meats and cheeses are the highest quality, many imported from Italy, and an amazing baker out of the Northeast makes our bread.”

The menu includes a wide selection of gluten-free and vegetarian options. Like most delis, customers can buy their meats and cheeses by the pound.

Biazzo Deli features flat-press paninis and antipasto platters available for customers on the go. They also cater various events, such as birthdays and weddings, and provide box lunches for corporate and family outings. And for dessert lovers, there is New York City cheesecake and cookies.

“At Biazzo, you’re going to get an authentic Italian sandwich made from the best meats, cheeses, and bread,” Frascino adds. “We recently added a Caesar Salad with homemade Caesar dressing. We’ve got some good stuff on our menu and look forward to adding more specials.”

Biazzo Deli is open Tuesday-Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 11 a.m to 3 p.m. For more information or for their menu, visit biazzodeli.com.
