Cities Summit of the Americas is “a United States government-led effort to convene city, state, municipal, and regional leaders from throughout the Western Hemisphere to focus on shared challenges and opportunities alongside diverse stakeholders from the private sector, civil society, and youth.”

This will be the first-ever Cities Summit meeting, in partnership with the U.S. government and led by the U.S. Department of State. It will include plenary sessions and small group roundtables covering topics such as mobility and transportation, housing and safety, climate and environment, finance and investment. All meetings will be translated into English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Booker has been Mayor Pro Tempore of Tryon since November 2019. She was recently featured in “Women’s History Month: Spotlighting Women in Local Government” by The National League of Cities (NLC), an organization of city, town and village leaders that are focused on improving the quality of life for their constituents.

The Biden-Harris Administration personally chose Denver, Colo. for the site of the 2023 Cities Summit of the Americas. The meeting will take place April 26 through 28.
