LANDRUM–Daniel Prince has submitted his resignation from the Landrum City Council effective March 3, 2023. Prince is constructing and moving into a new home in Landrum. However, the home is not presently within the Landrum city limits.

“Daniel has been an important member of the City Council and contributed to the council in many ways during his tenure,” Landrum Mayor Bob Briggs said. “On behalf of the City Council, I want to thank Daniel for his service on the Council and know he will continue to serve the Landrum community in other ways in the future.”

The State of South Carolina requires that a special election be held to fill his seat on the City Council. City Clerk Rita Bruce, in coordination with the Spartanburg County Elections Office, will announce the date of the special election as soon as officially notified by county election officials regarding the filing date for prospective candidates and requirements to run for the vacated council seat.
