It also has announced an open house for the public to tour Station 3. The open house will be held Saturday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will include station tours and displays of equipment. The public is invited.

The excitement has been a long time coming for Green Creek Fire Rescue as they have been working for a very long time to make this station a reality.

“The purpose of this station is to help us better serve the citizens of our district,” said Fire Chief Jeremy Gregg.

The building measures 80’ x 80’ and sits on just under one acre. Currently, the fire department has placed an engine, tanker, and brush truck at the station, with room to house more equipment later.

“An office inside the building will be dedicated space for the Sheriff’s Office to use for a substation and we have also been in talks with the county about trying to get an EMS ambulance moved out here in the future,” stated Chief Gregg. “We built this building to plan for the future.”

Green Creek recently lowered its ISO rating to a class 5. Once this station is certified, Green Creek will provide level 5 protection district-wide. Currently, anyone living more than 5 driving miles from the other two stations is in a class 9 ISO rating. GCFR has reached out to the Office of the State Fire Marshal to have their station inspected for certification, and is currently on a waiting list.
