Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Polk County Film Initiative, a 501c3 non-profit organization and host of the Tryon International Film Festival, is kicking off the year with a Disco Party fundraiser for TRIFF 2023 on March 31 at Upstairs Artspace in downtown Tryon.

The disco-themed event will include the one and only Rodney Greene as the Disco DJ – complete with the sounds and lights of the era. Retro/70’s era costumes are welcomed and encouraged!

Now in its 9th year, the film festival draws people from across the region and country to Tryon during its early October event. Donations, tickets and sponsorships are the main sources of revenue to support this annual festival that brings over 300 people to town each October to shop, stay and play in Tryon.

Tickets for the Disco Party fundraiser are $75 each and include two drink tickets and light appetizers. Tickets are available for purchase with check or cash in Tryon on Trade Street at The Nest and Carri Bass Photography Studio or online at www.tryoninternationalfilmfestival.com (ticket + fees).

Over the past 8 years, PCFI has focused on offering its signature event, the Tryon International Film Festival (TRIFF), reaching more than 4,300 people who have attended the weekend-long event and/or online offerings. In 2022 alone, 58 countries were represented by the 388 films selected and screened in Tryon, including two World Premieres.
