Job seekers often have the potential to do various jobs, but may lack the education or training required to meet job requirements. In exchange for training an employee and giving them the opportunity to work, an employer can be reimbursed a percentage of the trainee’s wages for a specified training period through the FWDB program.

The on-the-job training permits the employer to hire individuals through the program for an initial training period without covering the entire cost, providing job seekers with an opportunity for a job they might not have had otherwise.

An employer can potentially be reimbursed   50% to 75% of the employee’s training cost based on the trainee’s wage for the duration of the contracted training period and company demographics.

All job seekers who are enrolled in the program receive career counseling.

If interested in the program, a business services representative is available to meet with potential job seekers and employers to explain the program further. For more information on the FWDB, visit foothillsregion.org/workforce-development/.
