The Rotary Club of Tryon has been awarded the 2022-2023 Bronze Hero Award for its support of the ShelterBox USA program. The Club received the award for their financial support of the ShelterBox USA mission of providing vital aid to vulnerable families around the world.

ShelterBox was founded to provide emergency shelter to people affected by disasters and humanitarian crises around the world. Since 2000, ShelterBox staff and volunteers have helped to shelter more than 1.5 million people in more than 100 countries around the world. In 20 years, ShelterBox has emerged as a major player in the field of international disaster relief, responding to earthquakes, tsunamis, floods, typhoons, hurricanes, volcanoes and conflict.

ShelterBox USA knows each disaster is different, and so is every community. They know a one size fits all solution will not work, so we spend time talking to affected families to make sure we provide the right support at the right time. ShelterBox USA is ready to provide: Tents, Tools, Building Supplies, Shelter Kits, Solar Lights, Cooking Sets, Walter Filtration & Transportation Kits, Mosquito Nets, and something as simple and necessary as Blankets.

Tents

When disaster strikes, families need shelter to feel safe again. Durable tents can make them feel safe and protected when they can’t start rebuilding their homes immediately. From padded tents that can safely accommodate a stove, to medium-sized tents that fit in small spaces and ones that can last years if needed, families can feel at home again.

Shelter Kits

ShelterBox also provides shelter kits which include a selection of hardwearing tools and materials that are customized to suit the needs of each community. The tools and materials we send provide the essentials families need to start rebuilding homes straight away, ranging from tough tarpaulin and timber to corrugated sheeting and even room dividers.

The Rotary Club of Tryon is proud to support the work of ShelterBox USA and the Club is humbled by this recognition.
