Rutherford County Officials warn customers to check before pumping gas

 

RUTHERFORD COUNTY– Recently, the Forest City Police Department has found multiple instances of razor blades being placed in gas pump handles.

Three Rutherford County gas stations, two in Forest City and one in Ellenboro, have been identified as points of interest where the incidents have occurred. 

Lieutenant Brandon Rothrock of the Forest City Police Department warned Rutherford County and surrounding areas to be cautious and aware while pumping gas. 

“If you’re pumping gas, check. Look before you grab.” said Rothrock. 

There have been no reported injuries related to the incidents and they are currently being investigated by the Department of Agriculture and the Forest City Police Department.
