How it happened: Polk County took a nine-point lead at halftime. But Patton hit 12-of-15 free throws in the third quarter and rallied to even the score entering the final eight minutes.

The comeback seemed to awaken Polk’s offense, which went on a tear for its highest point total in any quarter this season. Bailey Staton had 15 points in the quarter and Mia Bradley added eight to fuel the Polk surge.

Staton finished with a season-high 31 points, with Kylie Lewis scoring 15 and Bradley adding 13.

Jayden Duncan added six points, with Sarah Gray and Gavionna Carson each scoring two.

Polk County will host MF7-leading Hendersonville on Tuesday.
