Polk County Schools, in partnership with the Polk Schools Fund through the Polk County Community Foundation, will once again host Polk Cares 4 Kids (PC4K), a fundraising celebration, on February 11 at Tryon International Equestrian Center.

The PC4K event is an effort to raise funds to help with the significant costs associated with extracurricular experiences, arts programming and athletics participation provided to students throughout Polk County Schools at no charge to them or their families. While many public school districts have reduced or ended funding for these types of programs or charge participation fees to students, Polk County Schools believes these opportunities should be available to all students without fees or barriers.

PC4K is not just a fundraiser, though, but also a celebration of the amazing arts and extracurricular programming opportunities offered to Polk County students. The evening promises to be most enjoyable with great food, musical entertainment and a chance to participate in silent and live auctions.

Guests can bid on gift packages. event tickets, and even large-ticket items from local businesses such as Becker Electric and Stott’s Ford.

There are several ways to support Polk County Schools through the PC4K event. Local businesses or organizations can sponsor a table at the event or donate items to be auctioned. Individuals and couples can buy tickets that include access to the opening reception, dinner and drinks, silent and live auctions and music. Donations to the general fund or specific programs are also welcome before, during or after the event.

The reception will begin February 11 at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m., the live auction at 7 p.m. and then entertainment running from 7:30-10 p.m. Tickets for individuals are $100, with those for couples just $150. Tables can be sponsored for $1000, with that sponsorship including eight event tickets, tickets for entry into drawings and inclusion in press releases and advertising as a sponsor.

Whether sponsoring a table or buying a ticket to attend, simply include check or payment made out to “Polk County Schools – PC4K” and give that to anyone selling tickets or deliver to Aaron Greene or Jim Hemphill at Stearns Education Center. Those who wish to make a donation but not attend the event can make a check out to the Polk Schools Fund at the Polk County Community Foundation with “PC4K” in the memo line. Individual and couples tickets are available for purchase at Stearns Education Center, Polk County High School and Polk County Middle School.

Anyone making a donation or buying a ticket will receive a letter verifying your sponsorship. Businesses or organizations wishing to sponsor a table or provide donations for auctions should contact Hemphill at 828-817-2955 or Greene at 828-817-0805.

So bring your checkbooks and invite your friends! Polk County Schools hope to have a great turnout and show students, faculty and schools how much Polk Cares 4 Kids!
