Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

At the end of each year, I always make a similar plea to the community.

“Give to all your favorite charities and if any is left, please don’t forget my kids.”

There are many other charities dear to my heart. These include Veterans Restoration Quarters for homeless veterans, Service Dogs for Veterans, and charities that raise funds for handicapped children.

Each year, to the best of my ability, I support these causes with as much as I can afford.  This week I have just finished sending checks to both veteran programs, which were due last year according to my personal commitment.

Elaine and I have had to cut back a bit on certain things due to inflation and a shortening of our fixed income. The way I look at it, though, if we are struggling, well, then so are important and necessary charities.

This week I’ve also taken care of a few minor cases. When I say minor, I mean the cases that required minor use of my funds, compared to more complex cases.

Currently, I have three major cases pending, which will be tended to in the next month or so. I expect my fees to range from six to ten thousand dollars for these cases alone. Due to so many wonderful people stepping up and contributing to Lennie’s Kids over the holidays, I was able to okay these cases.

I guess the generosity that I ask of others applies to me as well. Just do what you can and things will average out.

All honor and glory belong to our Lord; He will most certainly honor our prayers and our wishes, especially when we are caring for the least of these as He has asked.

“May the Holy Spirit fill you all the peace and love that surpasses all understanding.”

Thanks for listening.
