Megan Conner may be the newest member of the Rotary Club of Tryon, but that doesn’t mean she is sitting back and watching. On Friday, Megan joined other Rotarians at Polk Central Elementary School to participate in the Reading is Fundamental book distribution. Megan was excited to participate in the RIF program because she remembers when Rotary provided her with books as a child going to school in Rutherford County.

When she isn’t involved with Rotary, Megan is the new manager at the Old Mill Market Square in Tryon. The Old Mill Market Square is located in the Southern Mercerizing Building and is open to customers looking for antique and vintage items 7 days a week.

To Megan, “managing the Old Mill Market Square is about more than just making sure our customers have a great shopping experience. I want to ensure we are part of the community.” Joining Rotary gives Megan an opportunity to get involved in many activities in the community.

New Rotary Club of Tryon member Megan Conner read to a classroom of students on Friday.

Sharing the joy of reading with children comes naturally to Megan. She and her husband Chance live in Lake Lure where they are raising their 6 children.

The Rotary Club of Tryon meets every Thursday at the Presbyterian Church in Tryon.
