To kick off the New Year, the local Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (UUFCF) is adding a special service on the fifth Sunday of January with guest speaker, Robin A. Edgar, facilitating conversations designed to spark meaningful and insightful discussions about democracy and democratic values. 

Based on a new program developed by the Fetzer Institute, Edgar will key off on select quotes about democracy, freedom, equality, and the common good to guide participants to reflect on how to act upon those values in their personal life as well as in their communities. 

The session entitled: “Conversations on Democracy” is free and open to the public and will be held on Sunday, January 29, at the Whimsical World Gallery, 116 Jones St in Landrum at 10:30 a.m.

Local author and workshop facilitator, Edgar continues to conduct forgiveness workshops in conjunction with her work as a facilitator for the Fetzer Institute Love and Forgiveness Campaign. She also conducts The Healing Power of Reminiscence workshops based on her book, “In My Mother’s Kitchen: An Introduction to the Healing Power of Reminiscence,” at various venues around the country. Her TED Talk entitled “Reminiscence: The Healing Pathway to Forgiveness,” has had thousands of views on YouTube. 

Dedicated to promoting the ongoing search for truth, affirming the inherent worth of the individual, and being a force for good in the community, UUFCF meets at the Whimsical World Gallery, 116 Jones St in Landrum, SC at 10:30 a.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month.
