Polk County held the Hilltoppers to a lone basket in the first quarter, taking a double-digit lead early in the second quarter. Bailey Staton and Kylie Lewis fueled the first-half run, combining for 22 points.

In rebuilding mode, R-S Central has only topped 20 points twice thus far this season, and the Wolverine defense made certain that trend would hold.

Staton led Polk County with 22 points, with Lewis adding 13. Sarah Gray had eight points, with Charley Dusenbury and Jayden Duncan each scoring four.

Gavionna Carson and Brianna Gray each scored two points.

Polk County returns home Wednesday for a non-conference matchup with Madison.
