COLUMBUS–Mercy Urgent Care is expanding operating hours at its Columbus location beginning January 1. The clinic, located at 140 W. Mills St. in Columbus, will now be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week.

“Our mission at Mercy is to make healthcare available to all those who seek it. That mission guides everything we do,” said Operations Director Aaron Styles. “Increasing our center hours in these two communities has become necessary due to recent increases in demand for care. It will result in keeping patient wait times reasonable and ensuring a high quality of care, while meeting the higher demand.”

Mercy Urgent Care is Western North Carolina’s only local, independent, nonprofit urgent care network, with four locations in Buncombe County and one each in Haywood, Polk, Transylvania and Yancey counties. Mercy Urgent Care treats non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses such as cuts, strains and sprains, broken bones, ear infections, sinus pain, flu, mild allergies, digestive issues, animal bites and minor burns.
