TRYON–A Soul Edit, a unique pop-up shop that specializes in vintage and new clothing, recently opened in downtown Tryon.

Located at 31 Depot St., the shop also offers curated beauty and wellness products and unique pieces of artwork.

While living in Miami, owner Jainiz Sanchez created A Soul Edit to highlight her work as a personal stylist. Sanchez, a thrifting junkie and vintage clothing connoisseur from an early age, decided to move forward with her dream of opening a store that combines her knowledge and passion.

“I really want to help break barriers of what we are told to wear, and old clothing and styles always come back again,” Sanchez explained. As a stylist, she focuses her talents on helping self-identifying women block out the noise from the media about what they should be wearing, and embrace or find their own style again.

“You can see the centuries in a garment, and fashion, much like the wheel, is often redesigned but can never be reinvented.”

A Soul Edit houses Jainiz’s vintage collection of eclectic clothing, described as a mixture of bohemian and mountain looks, and carries toxic-free beauty products and makeup, such as Little Seed Farm scrubs and deodorants made in Tennessee. It also offers art prints from artists like Asheville-based Wyatt Grant, who created the mural outside the shop.

The shop has numerous vintage options and Sanchez plans to add more new styles, all while staying true to her fashion-forward thinking and commitment to supporting and selling sustainable products. Diversity and representation is important to Sanchez when choosing the products she sells.

“One of the best ways to be sustainable is simply re-wearing our older garments and clothing,” says Sanchez.  “My intention is also to sell products of diverse and marginalized communities, along with more toxic-free and vegan products.”

A Soul Edit is open from 12 to 6 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday. For more information, visit asouledit.com or check out @asouledit on Instagram.
