Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church has received $5,000 from the WNC Bridge Foundation to help feed local neighbors in their time of need.  

 

The church’s ministry, Share Thy Bread, received the gift just in time to make a holiday food drive for its local neighbors, purchasing winter produce from local farm, Charlene’s Garden, and distributing it with other holiday treats.

 

“This generous contribution made it possible for us to provide around 1,000 area neighbors with extra food for the holidays,” says Chairman of the Board for Share Thy Bread, Pastor Bob Grant. “We are so appreciative for this grant and the support of WNC Bridge Foundation and other organizations for helping us reach so many people in need. The Polk County folks are very grateful.”

 

Share Thy Bread is a food outreach ministry that delivers food to families in need across Polk County. It is staffed entirely by volunteers and is a ministry of the Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church. The church partners with MANNA FoodBank in Asheville and can purchase food at very low prices to distribute to those in need. 

 

It is the goal of Share Thy Bread and the Tryon Seventh-day Adventist Church to make a difference in people’s lives and to impact them now and for eternity.
