Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

As the holidays approach, Morris the Horse is making his traditional appearance on the annual Tryon Fine Arts Center (TFAC) Christmas ornaments. The 2022 edition is available now.

These ornaments, individually designed by local artists and produced by the Charleston Mint in 24-karat gold on jeweler’s brass, are sold to benefit Tryon Fine Arts Center operations and programs.

The Morris ornaments have been shipped around the world, and many people own every one made since artist Tommy Thorne-Thomsen produced the first one in 1991. Thorne-Thomsen designed the ornaments through 2002, and since then local artists including Paul Koenen, Kathleen Carson, Kim Nelson and John Walters have provided designs for the annual decoration.
