For the eleventh year in a row, Heartwood Gallery in Saluda has begun selling its Annual Holiday Fundraiser Ornament, the “Joy” ornament, which is hand cast in lead-free pewter by Beehive Handmade of Providence, R.I. All proceeds from the ornament sales go directly to Outreach, a nonprofit that provides financial and food assistance to Polk County residents in need.

The handcrafted heart-shaped ornament sells for $28 dollars and is only available at the Heartwood Gallery, located at 21 E. Main Street, in Saluda. Heartwood Gallery, a staple on Main Street since 1985, showcases some of the finest in American craft. All their items are made in America and include handmade ceramics, fiber art, wood, glass, metal, prints, candles, jewelry, pottery, garden art, and home furnishings.

Heartwood Gallery’s owner, Shelly DeKay, says “Outreach is an organization that truly supports Saluda and Polk County in so many ways, and the fundraiser is a great opportunity for us to say thank you to Outreach for their hard work and to give back to the community that has supported us for 37 years.”

Over the years, the ornament fundraiser has raised thousands of dollars for Outreach. Outreach is based out of Columbus and assists those in need throughout Polk County year-round.

Heartwood Gallery’s Meghan Krenek adds, “Everyone here at the Gallery has a great appreciation for the community. The ornament is a fun way for us to give back while helping a great organization.”

The limited edition “Joy” ornament makes the perfect stocking stuffer or gift for Christmas ornament collectors. It will be available through the holidays while supplies last.
