Sizemore Gymnastics Academy compete in their first meet of season

Sizemore Gymnastics Academy (SGA) competed in their first meet of the season, Pretty in Pink: Judges Cup, on October 22 in Charlotte. 

 

Neysah Engle, Irie Marlow-Halterman, and Josephine Wallace represented SGA at the AAU Xcel bronze level. Kendall Medina, Hadley Pereira, Aria Springs, and Alia Vorbe represented SGA at the AAU Xcel Silver level. Genevieve Ard, and ScottLynn Whiteside participated at the AAU Xcel Gold level. Sherlyn Trejo competed at the AAU Xcel Platinum level.

 

For SGA’s Bronze teams’ first competition, they put forth a strong effort. Neysah earned 35.35 all around from her 4th place on balance beam with 9.05, 9.2 on vault and 8.8 on floor. Irie achieved 32.55 all-around from her 8.6 on floor and 8.4 on bars. Josephine received 35.45 all-around from her 4th place on vault with 9.3, 8.8 on bars and 8.75 on beam. SGA’s coaches were proud of how the bronze team overcame their nerves and supported each other.

 

From SGA’s Silver team, Kendall earned 34.7 all around from her 2nd place on vault with 9.45, 8.65 on floor and 8.5 on bars. Hadley tied for 4th all-around with 35.35 from her 2nd place on bars with 9.1, 3rd place on beam with 9.05 and 8.7 on vault. Aria achieved 34.7 all-around from her 8.95 on bars, 8.9 on vault and 8.45 on beam. Alia received 35.95 all-around from her 1st place on beam with 9.4, 9.35 on vault and 8.9 on bars. SGA’s coaches were proud of the silver team’s achievements.

 

In terms of SGA’s gold team, Genevieve earned 3rd all-around within her division with her 36.15 all-around from her 2nd on beam with 9.05, 9.1 on bars, 9.0 on vault and 9.0 on floor. ScottLynn achieved 34.0 all-around from her 9.2 on floor,  and 9.0 on vault. 

 

For Xcel platinum, Sherlyn tied for 3rd in her division with 36.45 from her 2nd on beam with 9.0, 9.4 on bars, 9.15 on floor and 3rd on vault with 8.9.  The gymnasts will compete next on November 4 at the Pink Power Competition in Florence, SC.
