In Polk County District Court on Sept. 28, 2022 with Judge Kim Justice presiding, 82 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Scott Kevin Byers was convicted of possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Byers was fined $500, a $600 lab fee and court costs. 

Austin Michael Byrd was convicted of simple possession of schedule VI controlled substance and speeding 80 mph in a 65 mph zone. Byrd was fined $50 and court costs. 

Michaela B. Elliott was convicted of failure to inform law officer of CC permit. Elliott was fined $500 and court costs. 

Gerald Patrick Hall was convicted of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana. Hall was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, a $200 fine and court costs. 

Joseph Daniel Hare was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Hare was sentenced to 50 days in jail with credit for time served. 

Ronnie Dean Hawkins was convicted of possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession of stolen motor vehicle. Hawkins was sentenced to 8-19 months in prison. 

Patrick Monroe Maybin was convicted of possession of marijuana paraphernalia and rear seat belt violation. Maybin was fined $100 and court costs. 

Andres Martin Ortiz was convicted of level 4 driving while impaired. Ortiz was sentenced to 1 year unsupervised probation, 48 hours of community service, a $300 fine and court costs. 

Richard Marc Shrier was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Shrier was fined $25 and court costs. 

Michael Dale Sprague was convicted of level 3 driving while impaired. Sprague was sentenced to 1 year unsupervised probation, 72 hours of community service, a $400 fine and court costs. 

Johntae J. Williams was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Williams was fined $25 and court costs.
