Tryon Country Club held its Men’s and Ladies Club Championships from October 4 through October 9. The weather was perfect and the course was in great condition. The small greens combined with tough pin positions and the fastest green speed they had putted on here since last fall made good scores hard to come by.

 

 

 

The Ladies’ winners were:

 

 Joyce Arledge – Ladies Club Champion for 2022 – She led from start to finish.

 

Peggy Henson – Ladies Senior Club Champion for 2022 – She also led from start to finish.

 

Bonnie Sakos – Ladies Net Champion for 2022 – She was also second to Joyce Arledge in the Ladies Club Championship.

 

Caroline Brown – Ladies Senior Net Champion for 2022 – She won this title easily, and she was second to Peggy Henson for the Ladies Senior Club Champion.

 

 

 

The Men’s winners were:

 

 

Mario Mason – Men’s Club Champion for 2022 – He came from 3 strokes behind after round 1 to win by 2 strokes.

 

Steve Walker – Men’s Senior Club Champion for 2022 – He led from start to finish to win impressively.

 

Scott Marinski – Men’s Net Club Champion for 2022 – He had the best 18-hole net score of the tournament in his come-from-behind victory.

 

Chuck Summey – Men’s Net Senior Champion for 2022 – He had the second-best net score as he came from 5 back after round 1 to win.

 

Simon Behan – Men’s Runner-up – Defending Champion made a valiant effort to defend his title.

 

Brad Rakow – Men’s Senior Runner-up – His first year in the tournament, and a player to watch out for.
