The bridge over Middle Tyger River on Highway 14 near Highway 414 has been under construction for a few weeks and has now opened.

After an annual inspection, South Carolina Department of Transportation found that the bridge was in dangerous condition and immediately shut down the bridge, calling it an emergency closure.

The bridge needed pile repairs and has been repaired by SCDOT. Traffic is no longer rerouted, as the bridge is now safe for traffic.
