Arianna Wood and Davis Young each ran to top-10 performances during the Mountain Foothills 7 Pre-Conference cross country meet held Thursday in Brevard.

Wood placed eighth overall in the girl’s race while Young took ninth in the boy’s field.

Leah Dotson also cracked the top 10, taking 10th, while Ellie Baughman finished 17th for the Polk girls, who didn’t place in the team standings due to only fielding four of the required five runners.

Jalyn Thomas came home 15th for the Polk boys, who placed seventh in the team standings. Brevard won both the girl’s and boy’s competitions.

Both Wolverine teams are slated to next be in action on Saturday, competing in the 2A West Regional Preview meet at Asheville Christian Academy in Swannanoa.
