Auditions will be held Monday, Sept. 19 and Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. for Dearly Departed, the second show of Tryon Little Theater’s 2022-23 season. Auditions will be held at TLT’s Workshop, 516 S. Trade St. in Tryon with callbacks (if necessary) scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 6:30 pm.

 

Dearly Departed will be directed by Tena Greene-Porter. Greene-Porter is seeking 7 men and 7 women for the cast of this hilarious comedy about a dysfunctional family that goes to a funeral. Written by David Botrell and Jessie Jones, performances will be on two weekends: November 10 – 13 and 17 – 20 at the TLT Workshop. 

 

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, and scripts are available at the workshop for checkout for a 24-hour period.

Bud Turpin – an elderly man 

Raynelle – Bud’s wife 

Ray-Bud – Bud & Raynelle’s first-born son 

Lucille Turpin – Ray-Bud’s wife 

Junior – Bud and Raynelle’s youngest son

Suzane – Junior’s wife 

Marguerite – Bud’s sister

Royce – Marguerite’s son 

Delightful – Bud & Raynelle’s only daughter 

Reverend Hooker – 

Veda – an elderly woman 

Norval – Veda’s husband, wheelchair bound

Nadine – a young woman

Clyde – a friend of Ray-Bud’s from work

Juanita – a cousin by marriage
