Wolverines roar past Bearcats as Hill notches 150th victory

Polk County roared back from a first-set loss Thursday, sweeping through the final three sets to defeat Hendersonville 3-1 in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference volleyball action in Hendersonville.

 

The Wolverines claimed an 18-25, 25-11, 25-19, 25-19 victory that also gave head coach Molly Hill her 150th career victory. Now in her ninth season at Polk, Hill has a career record of 150-54.

Sophia Overholt led Polk County (8-1, 2-0) with 15 kills and 27 digs. Morgan Yoder added 13 kills, four aces, and four blocks while Ada Kelley had seven kills and 12 digs.

 

Elena Carroll finished with six kills and 15 digs while Ella Waldman had 20 digs.

 

Zaelea Eller had 22 assists and 15 digs, with Amberlyn Scruggs recording 21 assists and 12 digs. Mia Bradley had five blocks, six digs, and three kills and Elysia Smith and Lisa Jones each added nine digs.

 

Hendersonville dropped to 2-3, 1-1 with the loss.

 

Polk County has another key conference match on Tuesday, traveling to R-S Central.
